FMKA was launched in 2006 upon the work of Freddy Marques and K.Alec after they played back to back at the legendary dingy club. The fast-growing crowd at dingy followed the two to many clubs in Vienna. After the dingy´s sudden end, FMKA and their guest DJs became a new movement that would perform together at the supercruise events in Vienna, Munich, Zurich, Frankfurt and London with highlights in their first year being events during Zurich´s street parade and at cocoon club in Frankfurt. For 2 years Freddy Marques and K.Alec have worked together in the studio and played every set together. In early 2008 Freddy decided to turn to new musical objectives and Alec continued as FMKA to play their characteristic impulsive sound that has always been associated with FMKA. It´s usually tricky to classify music, however Alec has continuously managed to mix electro with techhouse, techno and minimal elements. He did the warm up for many artists at most of the important events in Austria. He´s acclaimed in particular for the variety of his sets that - no matter what genre - always provide the perfect sound. Alec has so far supported Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Felix da Housecat, Valentino Kanzyani, Marco Bailey, Disco Boys, John Digweed, Rush and Paul Oakenfold among others. In May 2008 the idea of a high quality afterhour in Vienna came up and only one club was considered suitable. At SASS, people had parties every Sunday morning. Sven Väth, Tiefschwarz, Tobi Neumann and many more have been among the guest DJs and cherished the unique atmosphere of the club, the crowd and that particular kind of open end party. . Unfortunately SASS can no longer host Sunday Mornings, so we went out to find a new first class location. Only a few clubs came into question. After several weeks of searching we chose Vienna´s current hot spot of the moment, the skykitchen. The opening party will be held on 2nd November 2008.. Finally, it should be mentioned that FMKA doesn´t just stand for a DJ, but for a bunch of people who exactly know how to party! Thx to all of you who made these parties rock! |
